The mission of Great Beginnings is to provide a safe and nurturing environment where a lifelong love of learning begins. It is the goal of our program to provide support to your child and family early in your child’s life to promote his or her development. Our dedicated staff includes certified Early Childhood and Early Childhood Special Education teachers, experienced paraprofessionals, and qualified support professionals who prepare a variety of daily activities which encourage communication, social, emotional, intellectual and physical growth in each child, fostering independence and self-esteem.
We have three locations: Great Beginnings at the District Education Center in Platte City, and Great Beginnings at Barry Elementary and Pathfinder Elementary in the southern attendance area of our District. We offer Early Childhood Special Education and a limited Peer Program; additionally, Great Beginnings at the District Education Center and Pathfinder Elementary offers a Tuition Preschool. Our focus on early intervention in a high quality learning environment increases the likelihood for school success.
